Strategic Inflection Point

I’m reading a book by Andy Grove of Intel, with the title ‘Only the Paranoid Survive.’

In the Preface, i came across his definition of Strategic Inflection Point as,

A time in the life of a business when its fundamentals are about to change. That change can mean an opportunity to rise to new heights. But it may just as likely signal the beginning of the end.

This point comes very close to the life of our company now, and why we are changing to rise to a bigger challenge.

The market is changing, and the demands from the customer have shifted. Going with the platform strategy, requires a great deal of effort, but it is the way to go to continue to grow in the market we are in.

What is key to this topic, is how an inflection point can also spell the beginning of the end. It’s an important matter that a company needs to be always paranoid of these situations, and keep an eye for it.

About 2 years ago, this inflection point caught us unprepared. Since then, it has been a struggle to shift direction, gain some wind, and set sail forward. Fortunately, these past months have seen the best progress by far, and i’m confident, it’s the beginning of something great. So great, it warrants the full focus and effort of everyone on-board.
