It’s been a while since i did a 5km run at home. I finally did one this morning.
The loop around the subdivision is just 750m, that requires many trips to complete a 5km. With a course like this, a headphone and a set of topics to ponder about is a requirement.
One such topic, revolving around doing this new X, when there are still about A, B, C, D, E, F stuffs to do. And the whole queue is getting late.
An initial reaction to that, specially if i have to deal with it early in the morning, is anxiety. And to clear it up, it requires me to block time, to let my mind sort it out.
And this is where running a 5km is a good multi-task to do. Though taking a shower and commuting, are two other conducive venues to deal with blocking thoughts.
Right this morning, i’m amazed how effective it is, that i now know how to do X, and i even got a good work out. A good start for the upcoming ultra 2 weekends from now.
